London (KurdishMedia.com) 22 January 2010: An anonymous source in the election commission of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) expressed concerns that Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) may resort to ballot stuffing in the upcoming Iraqi national elections. The source informed Kurdish website Hawlati on Friday.

The election commission of PUK held its first conference in January 15th and 16th, 2010 in Sualimania, reported Hawlati. The sources informed Hawlati that PUK fears that KDP may fraud election results in Erbil and Duhok to reduce PUK votes. The same source stated to Hawlati that there were extensive frauds occurred in the two provinces during the Kurdish elections of 25th July 2009.

The source, informed Hawlati, stated that PUK leaders have ordered party members to only vote for PUK nominees because KDP members will vote for their nominees. At the end of the conference, according to Hawlati, the commission identified provincial committees to oversight the election process in Erbil, Sulaimania, Duhok and in Kirkuk and the disputed territories
